Apply to attend LBBB

Eligibility

The LBBB organising committee encourages all early and mid-career researchers to apply!

This includes late stage PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows and junior faculty members within 7 years of receiving their terminal degree (MD or PhD). Career disruptions and other extenuating circumstances like previous travel restrictions will be considered. The organisers encourage applicants from basic, clinical and industry research, working on topics relating to gastrointestinal physiology and pathophysiology, including but not limited to developmental studies, inflammation, functional disorders, gut-brain axis, therapy and drug discovery.

Please note that attendance at the Federation of Neurogastroenterology and Motility meeting in Bogota is mandatory for LBBB attendees.

Why attend LBBB?

LBBB is a prestigious biennial meeting held since 1989, with a unique format of providing a unique scientific discussion forum exclusive to only 30 exceptional early career researchers. Participants are expected to deliver a 15-minute oral presentation on their most recent (unpublished) work or ideas for future projects. There will be ample time following each presentation and throughout the course of the meeting for discussions. LBBB has a long-standing track record of boosting the career of many young investigators; several previous attendees are now the world leaders in their respective areas of Neurogastroenterology and Motility! In addition, previous LBBB attendees continue to have close relationships with one and other, leading to collaborations and problem solving across countries.
